The look

Reflective pigments suspended in clear resin move and settle as we work them, creating ripples, veining and depth. Each floor is one of a kind.

Spaces that suit it

  • Home studios and offices built out of a garage or accessory unit
  • Startup offices and demo rooms
  • Boutique retail
  • Gallery and event spaces

Our process

We grind and repair the slab, apply a tinted base, pour the metallic layer and work it by hand, then seal it with a protective topcoat. For rooms with lots of natural light, a UV-stable topcoat keeps colors true.

Designing the floor

We start with a conversation about your space, lighting and furnishings, then make a sample board. Common choices include pewter and graphite for offices, warm bronze for living areas and deep blue tones for creative spaces.

Looking after it

Dust mop often and use furniture pads. Grit causes most scratches on glossy floors. A maintenance coat can renew the surface later.

Is metallic epoxy durable?

Yes, but it shows scratches more than flake. It suits low to moderate traffic best.

Can it go over radiant heat?

Yes, with careful prep and the right product.

Accessory dwelling units

Palo Alto has seen many garages converted into accessory dwelling units. A metallic or polished floor in an ADU gives a finished, modern surface without the cost and height of new flooring, and it is easy for tenants to keep clean.
